Going to R8 GT Experience at Infineon in June- Any suggestions?

My wife and I are going to Infineon for the R8 GT Audi experience in June! My dealer called about a month ago and asked if I was interested. 3 day trip. Fly in and have reception and dinner. Then the next day is race day from 8:30 to 5:00, then dinner. Then the next day go home. All at a spa in Senoma. Sounded to good to pass up so we will head over there.

Wonder if they will have GT's? Any suggestions?

My friend, that sounds like it is going to be a blast! I live 35 minutes from the track, and it is in the heart of the California wine country. Plus.... you get to drive it like you stole it for a day (well, maybe not that fast)! With instructors, even. I wish I could join you! Sonoma is quite a beautiful little town, and if you get a chance to visit Napa by all means do so. Enjoy!

They are going to have GTs... Teaching us how to drive them on the track. What week are you going? I am going to be there the 16-20.

18-20th we will be there. Me and my wifey. We never have been and she was thinking if going to the track but then after seeing some video on YouTube I don't think she would like it. Not sure.

Have you heard if they will have all GT's or a mix? I would be surprised to think they would have more than a couple GT's.

Unfortunately I am coming in hot Sat night around 10 or 11 and will miss the reception.

I can suggest Murphy's, a nifty little Irish Pub off the east side of the square down a little alley. My favorite place in Sonoma. They also serve great Irish food. If you are there on a Tuesday afternoon, they barbeque fresh Tomales Bay oysters outside in the alley, and there is live entertainment in the square.

There are plenty of other good places to eat in Sonoma. Swansailor and I had dinner one night at Lasalette, a Portugese place also off the square.

Hi, If you search my threads you will see what I experienced during the Nurburgring GT experience, if it’s a similar event which I would think it would be you arrive the day before, meet all the other guests over a drink, have dinner with the Quattro management team and learn more about the car and future plans, get up the next day, briefing meeting, you are paired with another guest to share driving, there were about 7 r8 v10s and 3 or 4 GTs which you get a chance to change to on an even share basis.

The whole day is spent learning racing disciplines, cornering, braking, slalom, wet control, they section the track into 4 quarters, you learn the track and then in the afternoon you start the usual follow the leader for full circuit racing line, then you have about 3 hours lapping as many times as you wish again sharing both the standard V10 and the GT.

They even drew a few lucky people out of the hat for a blast with one of the racing team in the full Monty race car.

While away this week on our highlands driving tour my Wife took an invite from the R8 UK team to all expenses paid trip to the British GP, pits, the lot.
