Port hold on R8s?

I just heard from my dealer that my car arrived in Houston on Tuesday but he said that Audi does a 10 day port hold on R8s. I hadn't read that anywhere on this forum before so I wanted to check. I've heard of them getting held up in customs before but not as a rule. In his email he said he was talking to his Audi regional representative and would see what he can do...

Seems illogical for Audi to arbitrarily hold a car in port for 10 days. Isn't it advantageous for them to get the car to the dealer quickly to reduce overhead/inventory?

Anyone else heard this or am I being fed a line of bull? Not sure I can do anything about it since if it's delayed it's delayed, but would be nice to know.

Can't confirm for sure, but I do believe there is some sort of hold once arriving to port. Just can't recall the amount of time......

Funnily enough, I heard from Audi today that mine had arrived at San Diego and has been released to the carrier. Should arrive next week! :-D

Don't know when it arrived in San Diego, however.
