Experiencing the R8 is twice what I thought it would be

After a month and still in the honeymoon I have to say the experience of having the R8 is MUCH MUCH better than the Pics and videos of this car. The photos and vids of this car just dont do it justice. The car's fit and finish, lower position than pictures can show and over all look is so much better in person than I thought it would be.

I dont drive it to the office so on the way through the garage to and from work I see it and shake my head. One off the hook looking car.

What a beautiful machine let alone the performance. Sometimes I make good decisions and sometimes I make great ones. No regrets here.

    ----

Driving down the road yesterday and some dude pulled up after a few miles of hanging close behind. Stop light and I see him pointing to roll down my window.

He then says how my car is the #1 car of choice and how much he loved my color combo. Said he owns a 911 turbo and regrets buying the R8. I said the 911 T is a beast and if he cant take it sell it and buy the R8.

    He was all jacked up.

End of the day this thing is #1 for styling and love the tight fit and finish feel it has so far.

Much better in person than in Pics. Much better.

When you stop at a traffic light and someone from the other side of the lights gets out of their car and kneels down on the ground and starts bowing at your R8..

    You have ARRIVED!

Happened to me about 2 years ago..what a car!!

Great to hear you are loving your choice.

Absolutely love how your car looks, and coming from a Daytona Gray RS4, it's awfully hard to not go with Daytona Gray w/titanium wheels on the R8...

The choice is my favorite combo. I spent a collective 20 hours looking at pics on the net to pick it. Mngolfer I think has this color combo and he had some good pics up I looked at that pushed me over the edge.

Also as this color ever looks good dirty. The titanium wheels and grey body seem to compliment themselves.

Yes, yes, yes...Daytona grey IS a great color. I have it on my 2008 RS4 and wanted it on my 2012 Spyder. But it can't be had now for some time. I am very happy for you..but "anguished" that it is no longer available. Can we just all move on and stop talking about Daytona grey??? It makes me feel bad every time I come back here ( which is at least 20 times a day) and see every one extolling the virtues of Daytona grey pearl metallic .

Daytona Grey is gone?! Well in that case, here are some more pictures. Sorry Homewood. The really cool thing about that color is how it changes appearance depending on the lighting.

Yes, I know. Have had it for 3 years on my RS4. It has a brilliance to it at night with street lighting that I have not seen in any other car. On an overcast day, the grey looks flatter and darker. In bright sunlight, you really see the pearl effect. Reminds me of the mugello blue which also looks so different depending on the lighting. (At least I get to keep my RS4 and admire it there!)
