    Maintain Audi R8

    Hello fellow members,

I am interested in getting an R8 with a tight budget so I want to see what are the maintain a year costing on an Audi? I heard Audi maintain is much more than expensive than BMW.

How much is a oil change? I know Ferrari is $400 at Independent shop.

    Thank you guys, ciao.

My oil change cost me £500 so about $800. I am on the long service plan so only service my car every 15,000 miles or so. I think it is bargain basement to run, even cheaper if you dont do many miles. Remember tho that tyres and extended warranty can add up tho. I pay $1100 for a set of 4 tyres (last about 12,000 miles) and $1,500 a year for an extended warranty.

We've had our car for close to a year now. Aside from a rim and tire replacement due to driver error, and topping off the oil, we've had no expenses.

My advice -- get to know your R8 technician. A lot of these guys will gladly change your oil/filter on the side for $250. You didn't hear it from me.

I got 3 years free servicing with mine as a part of the deal I got

    Servicing.
I like to change the oil after each track day. The filter was £21($38) oil was £110($182).
Its quite a bit work you can do it on the floor with wheel ramps. have a look at this Oil Change

    Tyres:
One track day pretty much ruined rear set of tyres it was a really hot day tho
    A set(x4) of TOYO T1-R XL was £900($1500).

    Fuel:
I get about 17-18 MPG on the roads

I would say its pretty cheap to run for a car on its type.

If you are trying to maintain an R8 on a budget then I suggest you suck it up and get something like a TT or come back later when funds allow.

    Re: Maintain Audi R8

I wouldn't advise getting an R8 or any other expensive car on a tight budget. Sh*t happens and out of warranty expenses will be high, such as tire/wheel replacement, body work, so on and so forth.

The previous owner of my car put in a DVD and burned the cable to the Navi. It cost $2500 for the cable to be replaced by me.

If you get a new car, you're loosing money driving out the door and if you get a used one, the warranty is shorter.

The cable is about 1 inch wide and about 1 foot long. I was shocked at what Audi charged. And why does someone want a DVD in an R8?
