So glad to hear about the car. Great color choise, too!
Get that guy broken in so we can see you in it at the next Audi Club event!
(Shameless Thread Hijack / Track Event Plug: Radius8 and I met at Thunderhill earlier this month. We had a lot of fun, both on the track and at the surrounding Audi Club social events. Both of us brought our "other Audi", so no R8s. We need to rectify that in October! Here's the scoop:
Audi Club Golden Gate chapter's Audifest event in October 2011 at Infineon will also be the Audi Club North America's Frank Beddor Nationals (national meet) this year, and I'm hoping we see a great turnout of R8s!!! This event will sell out, so if you are interested in attending you should make your reservations NOW. http://audiclubgoldengate.motorsportreg.com/)

Whohoooo... Got her home, indeed what a car.The full auto mode is still a tad jerky but in manual mode, using the slight lift-off technique I saw mentioned on this forum, it is so smooth that it feels like one continuous gear. Goto watch my speed though, I overtook some slow car and before I knew it I was going 80+mph and I could not even feel I was going that fast. Ooops.
In the end I got the dealer to throw in Audi Care as I complained that they low balled me on my trade in. Also got the 3 year extended warranty to 7 years/70k for about $1300/year which I though was not too bad (considering potential costs of fixing the R8). Now to schedule for clear bra.
Can't enjoy it today as I have to undergo some unpleasant medical procedure and was forbidden to drive. However, I am planning to take her to the Pinnacles National Monument this early Sunday. I have been there many times and know that CA146 (from west side) is sparsely traveled and in fairly decent shape, perfect to give the brakes a workout. Of course, you Bay Area folks are welcome to join me.
Pictures will be forthcoming.
Desperado, I will definitely see you at Infeneon, I signed up for the event weeks ago.

Congrats on the new car. I thought auto mode mattered on the RT, but eight months in I have yet to use it once. Don't really see the point.
Only 80? Once you have a few miles on it you'll start to realize it's almost impossible to drive without exceeding the ton every time you run down an on ramp, or pass a couple cars.
