Joined the R8Talk family

Hey guys.. I guess I've registered long ago but finally decided to visit again and post.

I own a 2009 R8 V8 4.2 which I bought in September 2010, it has been sitting in the dealership and I'm the 1st owner so got it in a very good price.

I've recently installed a QuickSilver Titan SuperSport exhaust, I love the sound but at idle and low speeds its very very loud and can get annoying, but I'm getting used to it, got it for few reasons:
1-I am not losing my Audi Warranty
2-Saves 18kg
3-QuickSilver being a company that makes racing exhausts for Aston Martin Racing.

My car is Jet Blue Metallic with CF side blades.

Another jet blue car Looks great and especially with the carbon contrast. That is why I have added so much carbon to my car. The titan exhaust is going to be my next mod, my friend has the same exhaust and I agree it is ridiculously loud but the sound is so good its worth putting up with.

Mr. A is the ONLY jet blue rolling in this neck of the woods :-)
As for the exhaust, i can vote for it being insanely loud - just heard it yesterday on his car and begged him to avoid my neighborhood :-p

Heah, welcome ...We need another section called R8DIY...once you become an owner, you'll fall in love so hard, you'll start tinkering on her, it's like letting some one else touch your woman when taking your R8 in for service.

I got the R8 by luck, this one in particular. I was first only convinced to get Corvette, it being my dream car ever since I was a child. The dealer here in my country (Sultanate of Oman - Middle East) never got back to me and then suddenly the Audi showroom call me (I went to them in June and they told me it costs 57,000 Omani Rials - $150,000) and by the end of August they called me telling me there is a special offer. They had a red one and a yellow one (mine was hidden in their warehouse behind the dealer) I was all for the yellow one it being exclusive and looked so good under the lights inside the showroom and I loved the Alcantara steering wheel + the bucket seats but my oh my when I saw the Jet Blue Metallic inside their warehouse (by luck) I immediately changed my mind. The offer they gave me was 39,000 Omani Rials - $100,000. 2 months difference and they reduced $50,000 and it had 0km. They let go all their 4 cars at that price

Fortunately, it is the only Jet Blue Metallic in the country.

Yup the exhaust is very loud but I do love it especially while accelerating.

The only thing I want to do in my car is add CF side mirrors hopefully in the next few months
