For Spyder owners: does your seat tilt forward

I'm from Canada and the seats on the Spyder don't tilt forward.
I know they tilt forward in some places that R8's are sold because my owner's manual, for the Spyder, says the seats tilt forward.
I would like to know if your seats tilt forward.

It is such a pain when the tilt is not there, as the sun heats up the backs of the seats, and you need to send the electric seat forward to get anything back there and then work the electrics again to set the seat to where it was.

I would like to see how I can work out to get this tilt on my car.
So if you have a Spyder and a tilt seat, would love to hear from you.

    Hi Buddy
I have a 2011 Spyder and the electric seat has all functions opertional. Does your leather not have the "special" coating? This is supposed to stop your seats from overheating by the sun's rays and boy it really is effective. I live in Australa where the sun beats down most of the time and the seats are always comfortable unlike my other cars. However I must say that conversely on a cold day the seat heaters are not very good at all.
    Hope this helps

I'm not sure if I have the special coating, but I think I do. However the reason I also ask about the tilt on the seats, is that sometimes it is convenient to tilt the seat back forward so that it is more easy to put something behind the seat.
I was wondering if the R8 was delivered to certain countries with this tilt option, as the owner's msanual clearly shows the seats being able to tilt forward

    Hi Eliouno

I think I understand the question you are asking.

In my old V8 coupe I could tip the back of the seat forward manually by pushing a release button.

In the Spyder I can only tilt it forward electrically by holding the back seat tilt button continuously.

No manual override or Quick release button.

That's the same problem I have and in the owner's manual, it does explain how to use the quick release. I assume that in some parts of the world , this quick release is delivered witht the quick release.
It's a real pain to use the electric setting to put something in the back and then try to find the seat setting again

    Yes you got it right..

You have to find your seating position again if you get something from behind the seat.

The only space I have behind the seat is for dust. I'm only 6'1" but have the seat as far back as it can go though with the seat-back itself reclined a bit, there is some space just behind the seat cushion, but not enough to store much of anything except for something maybe 2" wide on the floor.

Hi Spyderman, at 6,2 I can understand that this is not an issue. At 5.4, and little trunk space on the Spyder, any extra room is sure welcome. I use it to store extra shirts and socks for a long weekend. The trunk is for my lady friend, so the tilt option on the seats is nice to have...

    Hi Elio,

Point taken! Every little bit helps. When I first came on this forum I complained about there only being one cup holder.

My 2010 UK Spyder has seat release handle on the top of the seat.
