Poll: Does Your Manual Shifter Move in Third Gear By Itself?

Much has been made of Eliouno's complaint about his Spyder V10's 6-speed shifter moving under acceleration and deceleration and even making a noise in the process. No one from Audi could explain it or fix it and Elio refused to accept a replacement transmission, preferring (as is his right when paying so much for a car) to get a new car, which Audi acceded to.

The question then remains: Who among you manual transmission owners have this condition wherein the shifter moves up to a half-inch forward or backward while in third?

We've been commented to death already on this so please just vote so we can see how many people have this condition with their manual and who don't.

Very slight movement in 3rd gear without any noise. If had not read about it here, it would not have even mentally registered.

Please vote yea or nay. Either it moves in third or it doesn't. Not asking if it bothers you, just if it moves perceptibly.

Respectfully, not sure what this poll, with simple (yes/no), will accomplish since very slight movement and large amount of movement will be compiled together. Moreover, those who had followed this thread are probably already biased by what they have read here.

It's pretty simple: you have 6 forward gears. If only third moves the shifter under accel/decel but none of the others do, then vote Yes. If not, vote No. If you don't agree with the format of the poll, don't vote at all. That's choice #3.

I voted No, and mine doesn't move in any gear, but engaging 2nd from 1st feels a bit clunkier than other transitions...anyone else feel this as well?

Mine always moves a little in 3rd but it never bothered me because this issue has been discussed before on older threads that I had read prior to buying my car.

I agree there is a little clunk or increased resistance going from first to second. I think it is normal

    Nice tone

Just my opinion... Try to bring out the best in others. That tone isn't healthy for this site. Just my opinion.
