    Left paddle shift "jammed"

All of a sudden while driving, my downshift paddle became "jammed". While normally getting a satisfying 'click' when shifting, now I have to press it in fairly forcefully, and there's no click. It feels like there's something stuck inside the mechanism. I've stopped using the paddles and reverted to the stick for now until it's fixed.

Has anyone else experienced a similar problem?

This is my first post on the forum. Hi to all the other R8 owners. I own a white / silver side blade 2008 R8 4.2.

    Howdy Sammy.

Any chance that you spilled something on or near the paddle? It sounds like something's worked into the mechanism some how.

The paddles in all these steering wheels seem to randomly have issues. Unfortunately the fix is almost always to have the paddle replaced. Not a huge procedure either.

    Hi Kfab,

There's no chance _I_ spilled anything there, but I did take the car to get washed the day it started happening...

    Location updated.

Odd. Today I got into the car and the paddle was completely back to normal, as if whatever liquid might have been in there evaporated. Then towards the end of my drive it jammed up again, but only temporarily, then became unstuck after I wiggled it a few times.

Pretty strange, I guess if it's not completely back to normal in a couple days then I'll go get it looked at.

I had the same problem with my V8 it is an intermittent problem but you will have to take it to the dealer and they will replace it
