New R8 V10 Collected Today

A few photos of the new car and very short impressions..

Noticeably faster than the V10 Spyder I had and the car feels more brisk and lighter.

Suspension is not as firm as the Spyder was but gives nicer feedback through the wheel and feels much nicer overall.

Love seeing that V10 through the window again after it was hidden in the Spyder.

I also found on the way home that the engine led's come on if you turn on a interior light..never had that on the V8 coupe.

This is my 3rd R8 in 3 years now and without doubt its the best in terms of performance and handling and to me looks gorgeous with its flaired nostrils and bigger engine in the back.

Highly polished Rims are nice but I have the second set of 5 Spokes when I want to change.

Absolutely gorgeous!! Great photo effects with the lines too. Are the rear vents on the engine lid aluminum or plastic, and if the former are they a special order or standard on the V10? It will be interesting to hear your impressions of going to black after two white ones too?

I also discovered that shortly after getting my 4.2....
My lady friend wanted to see what it looked like while in motion at night with the engine bay lights on , so she followed me in her SUV; that's when I quickly learned the auto dimming mirrors stop functioning with the interior lights on...her headlights about blinded me!

The vents are plastic. I think they are standard. Mine came with them.

Car looks great! Can't tell from my phone, but is the engine surround in c.f.?
I know it comes standard on U.S. V1O's, but not sure on your side.
Also interested to see how you favor a black car coming from white. I personally don't think I could make that switch!

yeah, silver is standard on the v10 but the black package is a v10 option that specs them in the same black plastic as the v8 - plus it does black front grille and black exhaust tips. I think the silver looks good against the black of the paint.

when i had my v8, I saw europrice listed aluminum engine vents for over 1k, i was disappointed to find out it's just aluminum colored vents which are still plastic in the v10.

Beautiful car. I like the polished look better than the stock y-spokes. Those silver plastic vents are one of the few things I really don't like on the V10.

Congratulations, and don't forget to buy a car duster. Black paint shows all the dust.

@wickedrsr, yeah, but they'd also be pretty heavy if from aluminium. Anyway, you can get yours painted at a decent shop I guess...

That silver paint they use has a slightly rough, non smooth, texture.

She's a BEAUTY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The updated DRLs are sweet. I recently had Audi replace my headlights for free. 'Shoulda asked for these newer lights instead...darn, darn, darn.
