Possible to retrofit Reverse sensors and camera

Been thinking about doing this for a while and wondering if it's possible?
Had it on my RS6 and whilst useful it wasn't a necessity.
I'm finding with the R8 the rear parking sensors just dont judge the Kerbs enough and that you can accidentally catch the rear diffuser.

so if anyone has any details on installing this then please let me know

You'll need a camera, the wire harness and the module that controls the camera.

I have a spare camera if you're interested. It was unboxed, plugged into my non-working system only to find that it's not the camera that has the issue and then put back in the box. Unfortunately for me, electronic parts are non returnable.

Alternatively you could buy all the parts required from Kufatec for EUR649 here

But the most cost effective method would be to purchase the majority of parts from Audi for £448.97 (Guernsey VAT-free prices) and the wiring loom from Kufatec for EUR89 here

The biggest headache would be routing the wiring from the control unit located behind the front seats to the camera location and from the control unit to the RNS-E headunit. Kufatec appear to provide installation instructions which might make the job alot easier provided they cover every aspect of the installation.

I heard back from Kufatec today who said the instructions they provide for the reversing camera retrofit kit do not include details of the tools required etc etc and they suggest having the kit installed professionally.

To me, this translates as 'our instructions are not a complete A-Z therefore you need to take it to someone who can figure it all out'.

@FiftyPence, in most cars one has to get a new bumper as well, since only drilling to accommodate the sensors is normally not sufficient, they have to properly "sit" in a receptacle that's part of the bumper.

Is that the case in the R8? you've got the ETKA power to tell us.

I got those sensors, but could live without them. I have a feeling installing them is not going to be cheap.
