thrashing the r8

i live in the midlands, and would love to give my r8 v10 a good thrash but where, preferably not public roads? any advice / help much appreciated..thanks

Attend a track day.

I realize that they are public roads, but go drive the Yorkshire Dales (I am assuming you're in the UK) Some great roads and spectacular views.

There is loads of tracks around the midlands. A really big one not that far away called wales

But try this website its a great guide to whats going on http://www.trackdays.co.uk/calendar/ you can book via the site but its normally cheaper book the track direct but some are put on by the site

If your not used to track driving tell them and they will give you advice might even come out with you to give you some pointers
