Finally!
Was originally told the car would show up June 20th.
Nope.
Then it was supposed to show up last week.
Nope.
Next we were told it would be here on Tuesday.
Once again, nope, not happening.
Yesterday they were still expecting it, but as of about 6:00 last night, still nothing.
I got a photo text from one of the guys that works at The Audi Connection this morning "Look what I found this morning".
MY CAR HAS ARRIVED!!!
Then I find out that the two R8 certified techs are out of the shop for the day. My buddy Arron (R8 tech) sent me a picture of the beach in Monterey, CA while I was drooling on my new toy - he's there for the Continental Tire's race this weekend at Laguna. The other guy was not in. I wasn't going to be able to take the car!
So, we went about doing a few small things with the Service Mangler's permission. The ADV's were installed, floor mats and wiper blades put in place, the spring binders were removed and then one of the other Audi Techs called Arron to find out what's involved in PDI'ing the car: Turn off the transport mode, check a couple of things and it's ready. Fortunately, the Service Mangler gave it the okee-dokee and they released my ride.
R-tronic is different. This will take a little getting used to - man it switches gears quickly!
Brakes aren't as touchy as the ceramics.
The car is beautifully quiet! Oh how my ears are happy.
Next week I'll get started on installing some electronics for LEO detection, the carbon mirror pods and some of the carbon stuff that is getting removed from the TT.
Man this thing looks KILLER in person!
