R8 V10 vs TTRS

A interesting comparison I came across.

remember seeing that a while back - it's such a narrow focus of a review that it's hard to see what purpose it serves.

Of course on a very twisty road where the r8 driver isn't truly gunning it then the laws of physics are going to apply - but in the real world there are straight decent straight sections between the twisty bits and as the video showed that's a whole different kettle of fish.

For the price the TT RS moves very well indeed.

I wouldn't really listen to auto car reviews
They tested a evo x against a focus RS

Anyway they said the evo was boring and the focus was the best one.

Months later I drove a RS had bad understeer and over steer, as soon as you put your foot down it wheel spun to the left or camber in the road.

Down the evo and was blown away :S

A tight undulating road is a poor venue for the R8. It's heavy, and wants more sweeping turns and straights to deliver its best. There's a great bit of road in Santa Barbara called old San Marcos Pass (N. San Marcos Rd.). It's so tight and twisty, even an old Miata will keep pace with, or outrun most anything on a road like that. Give a bigger car room to accelerate though, and the outcome will be different. Too bad we can't close off the current San Marcos Pass for some speed runs. An R8 would be awesome on the valley side of the hill.

It's a crying shame the TT RS was emasculated (somewhat) by Audi USA due to not having the DSG gearbox available. WTH were they thinking? They could/would have sold many more if it had been an option imho.
