Who here as upgraded (if you will) to a V10 coming from a V8?
Curious as to your all around thoughts, and if you think you made the right decision. Lastly, was it worth the $$ difference as the end result?

I have and I posted a thread about it before, so I won't rehash it all again:
Coming from V8 r-tronic to V10 r-tronic - initial thoughts
but I am very happy with the change. I still think the v8 has the edge sound-wise in the low rev range (with stock exhausts) but have to say that I am finding the sound of the v10 post 4k rpm to be very addictive.
When I had a test drive in the v10 I didn't think it felt that much quicker, but I have to say that when driven in anger the v10 is in a totally different league to the v8.
In terms of value, I look at it more in terms of the alternatives to the r8 rather than the v8 to v10 comparison. I really didn't intend have another r8 after the v8, but it's such a good package that there really was nothing else in the frame.

Thank you. I did a search, and came up with nothing. Although I did remember seeing it discussed somewhere before.

Its tempting but too much money for me atm. I think I will keep my car for at least another 3 years I just never tire of driving it. Definatley going to do a wrap soon which should hopefully make it feel like a whole new car. For me my first V10 will be something different like a G spyder most likely.
Yeah, I never got tired of the v8 - that car was still putting as big a grin on my chops after 3 years as it did at the beginning.

Test drive one after the other and you'll get your own answer, at least that's how I ended up w/ my V8.
These are just my personal opinions after the test drives:
:: the v8 felt more nimble & well-balanced around the corners
:: the visceral feel of driving either v10 and v8 felt the same
:: I preferred the older "dots" of the pre-2011 headlamps
:: didn't like the oval tips or black "bar" on the v10 bumper
:: love the more aggressive side blades on the v10
:: loved the aftermarket tubi v8 sound vs the v10
:: I smiled just as hard in the v8 as I did in the v10
In the end, it wasn't enough to push me to spend an extra $20k, which I've burnt through anyways in mods so far hehe and which I would've spent on modding a v10 as well.
Coming from a V8, all i can say is that if your V8 puts a smile on your face, switching to the V10 will give you a happy ending... The sound, the feel, the power, the look are all noticeable differences... well worth it! You won't be disappointed.

Had the V8 for a year and a half, and now the V10 for 7 months. IMO there is no difference in handling performance, and the extra power is a world of difference. Could I live with the V8, hell yeah! But the V10 just makes my favorite car that much better IMO.
I'm making the move this week to the S/C V8 via STaSIS - everything I love about the V8 with power to match the V10, and a lot less than upgrading to the V10 with a 2008 car :-)

Owned a V8 Rtron for three years and 25k miles Bought Monkeyboy's V10 in Jan this year.
Normal road use there is no noticeable handing difference the performance is in another league and the noise above 4k is gorgeous.
Don't get me wrong, V8's nice but the V10's loopy :-)
