Previous 997TT owners and now V10

I am currently a 997TT owner and considering a V10 coupe 6MT. I would like to know if there are any previous 997TT owners here who then purchased a V10 and get your thoughts both positive/negative. Any regrets, do you miss the turbo at all?
Also what is your opinion on best color for an R8?

Please add your location to your profile but I hedge my bets on Milton Keynes UK.

If you do purchase an R8 please consider a new username

I traded a 997 turbo for an R8 V10. No regrets. The turbo does hit hard, but there is noticeable lag. Suspension was rather stiff for the frost-heave laden roads of New England. Exhaust note was completely uninspiring.

But, I do like the looks of Porsches (still have one) and the roomy cabin. Reliability has always been good with the Porsche's I've owned.

But, I've enjoyed the swap, as I'm sure most would.

I sold a 2007 Turbo and purchases an R8 V10 and no regrets as well.

I preferred the older air cooled Porsche and never did settle into the 997TT, the older 993 however can be pure porn in my eyes.

Try it you will like it.

I currently have both cars. Very different creatures. Turbo hits hard and is way faster (mine has evolution 700/750 HP). Much more edgy. Feels boy racer and easy to flick around. Hard to drive at 10/10 ths. Gets squirrly under power and the car move a lot laterally. It does bite, but requires a lot of faith. Does not like to power oversteer (fun not fast). Big lag so out of the blue acceleration seems slower waiting for boost to build. Once in the boost feels much faster. Terrible noises from motor. Car blends in the crowd.

R8 V10 is smooth. Suspension is much more compliant. Handles bumps better. Easy to drive at 10/10ths and makes you look like a hero. Loves power oversteering in corners. Easy to drive this car and trust it immediately. Car feels slow, but is really going fast. Hard to describe, but feels safer driving at speed no surprises. Front end feels more planted and neutral. Really quick with gobs of torque and accelerates immediately just not as fast going all out. The sound is crazy good. Sexy looks turns heads everywhere. This one is getting all the miles lately.

Thank you everyone for your responses. Would you guys say reliability comparable to 997TT? Also I know off topic but anyone here have any experience with '08 lambo superleggera? What is opinion of R8 vs superleggera? I just wanna be sure before I switch rides.

Well, I'm moving from a 997 GT2 to the R8 V10, so basically everything Otis said is spot on for me as well, and even more extreme in the twitchiness, edginess, ride, etc. GT2 is great for the track and highway blasts, but all around daily driving is way too tiring in it. Can't wait to get my Sepang, hopefully early next wk!
