Road America August 8-9th

There are only 17 days until the Badger Audi Club HPDE event at Road America located in Elkhart Lake, WI. Currently there are five R8's participating. We need more. Please come and join us. http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.c...709B60C383070A

I spoke with the event chairman yesterday. There are only 90 people signed up. This is one of the premiere tracks in the USA. Watch Allen McNish go around it.

At about 5:10 you can see a Ferrari 333 SP go past me. At ~5:52 you can see an R8 V10 go by me. If you watch it to the end you can see me battling it with another V8 R8.

McNish was only 55 seconds faster than my fastest time.

I'm at Miller in SLC right now. Bodhii is here too, and we are having a great time on this epic track. Two supercharged R8s are giving all those pesky GT3s absolute fits!

Anyone in the SLC area should come out Sunday, as the track is wide open and there is space available in the run groups.

I should have some good videos. Bodhii is a master of this track. Will try to post in the next day or two from "on the road".

I corded my new set of Hoosiers by noon today (the second day) while trying (mostly successfully) to keep up with the winged car! I hope the videos show the flames from Bodhii's tailpipes on decelleration!

Will need more tires when I arrive at RA. Still have another day and one half here on the street tires...

I ordered some tires from tire rack and had them shipped here for installation, about 12 miles from the track. If you need an installer they seem like a decent outfit.

Edit: For some reason TireRack links don't work here. You can punch in zip code 53073 @ TireRack for the recommended installers. I went with Carlton Automotive. The have good equipment and are close.

It looks like a lot of fun. I love following someone who knows what they are doing (for as long as I can). Are you guys in the advanced group at RA? Even if you aren't, I guess I can't see me keeping up with a couple veterans on R-compounds for more than a turn or two.

Also, does the wing noticably effect the handling and top speed?

You have a V10. You will leave all of the V8s in the dust, except Desperado.

Maybe in a drag race. Last time I was at RA there were some regulars in tuned M3s that owned me completely. Either way, it will be fun.
