The car's a blast to drive in the snow and on the slick stuff.

I use the car everyday so I will need to put winter tires on it.

You'll have a blast. Given how quickly roads are plowed in the NE, you shouldn't have any problem with winter tires. Obviously, it might not be a great idea to take it out in the middle of a Nor'easter, but other than that your only concerns would be clearance on freshly covered roads and ice, which affects everyone. Easy on the throttle.

I don't think that Blizzaks are available in sizes that fit the R8, if they are, they're better than the Pirelli Sotozeros (I have Blizzaks on my RS6 and they're stellar), but that said, the Soto's are a great winter sneaker for your car - they're what I run during the time of cold and ick here in Ohio.

I would work from home if the weather was to bad but I just wanted to make sure that its a good idea to use it everyday because my commute to work will be 45 minutes one way

Don't forget winter tires are a good idea not only for when there's snowfall, but for general winter use in temperatures below 5 degrees Celsius, you'll need them just as much.
