My R8 GT Impression

Hi Guys,

i am not a professional car reviewers, nor am I an expert on cars. But coming from a V10 to the GT, and after having driven it for a couple of days, below are my impressions so far:

- gear change is faster
- car is visibly quicker and faster when compared to the v10.
- steering is same
- ride is very smooth, even with the absence of Magnetic Ride. The GT sits lower than the v10, but still gives the same comfort when on rough roads. Well at least this is how i have felt so far.
- Contrary to my original impression , the bucket seats (which you can only get in Europe and Asia) are very very comfortable. In fact, i find them more comfortable than my LP560 seats or my old v10, which had standard seats.
- Audi MMI with iPod interface is great. Sound system appears more crisp, compared to the v10. Even though I am sure this is just me (my v10 also had B&O)
-Ceramic breaks are amazing and very responsive. I am sure I will appreciate them more on the track
I really like this car and my decision to buy one was a right one. Today i went to the Audi showroom to collect some paperwork, people couldn't stop staring! A guy came to me and said, "this is my number, please please do let me know of you ever want to sell it". With only two GTs coming to Singapore, he will have to wait a while!

Hi Kiran,

Looks fantastic, love the orange body colour backs to your seats, mine had the black backs, I note you also opted for the 3 point seat belts rather than the standard 4 point racing harness, I chose 3 point for ease of use and to stop the heavy metal buckles banging on the interior, I could see they would cause damage over time.

I may be over for the GP soon; if I am I will contact you for a coffee and chat, after GP will be off to Vietnam for a few days with mates who live in Singapore & some American mates coming for GP.

Car in the photos looks really great with a really nice selection of options.

I would be interested to know if it has that same performance edge that your 560 has?

Also whats your thoughts on the GT Exhaust?

Beautiful!! Enjoy in good health as well. Looks like the front lip spoiler is body colored? Thought it would definitely be c.f. to match diffuser. Unless my eyes are just playing tricks on me...
