R8 spyders collect dust in us dealers

So true. My local dealers have them stacked up like cord wood, but NO coupes. Audi way over estimated the demand for the Spyder, at least in the US. I suspect they're just flushing out the remaining 2011's.

I didn't get the same impression that the two of you did at all. What I got out of it was, if you are in the market for a Gallardo Spyder, why spend $30K more and have to wait for it? Also, if you want a faster car for the price of an R8 Spyder, consider the Porsche Turbo which is way faster but looks like a horse buggy by comparison. All high praise and nothing negative in the entire article, IMO.
I've been searching dealer inventories via cars.com and autotrader.com since the beginning of the year and there have always been around 180 Spyders available, and much fewer Coupes. Right now there are 78 Coupes & 188 Spyders, pretty much the amounts I was seeing in January thru April when I was checking regularly. In other words, unchanged all year. That means they are selling them, not stacking them up like cord wood and the ratio is at least 2 Spyders per each Coupe sold. You side blade freaks really need to get over yourselves and stop bashing the success of the Spyder.
You guys ought to go back and read the article again and open your eyes this time.

i'd sure like to see a red spyder in person (also a brown (teak brown?), those are beauties.
