AMI always on?

Hi guys

I have an ipod connected into my AMI at the rear of the car.

I'm finding however that if I turn the MMI on (for phone, navigation, anything) the music just starts playing automatically.

I can pause it but then as soon as I press a button or next time I start the ignition then it starts up again.

Of course I can turn the MMI off but then I don't have access to any of the other features.

And of course if I turn it on again the music starts up, regardless of whether I have selected Media or not.

Is this normal behaviour? Any obvious solutions that I have been too stupid to work out

Same goes for the radio by the way.

The music starts playing when I fire the car up regardless of the state it was in when I switched the car off - not come across any way to change that behaviour.

I don't use the phone or audio on the nav, so when I press the volume knob it just knocks off the volume for me and leaves me with the visual nav.
