I participated in the Chin Motorsports track day at Sebring Raceway yesterday. Let me say the R8 was perfect! I was running it completely stock. Just put on some new rear tires (fronts were pretty new anyway) and hit the track! This was my very first track event and I was real happy with the way I drove and thoroughly impressed with the ability of my R8. My instructor was having a blast in the passenger seat and couldn't believe how well I was doing for my first time on the track. I was flying by other cars and even passing some intermediate drivers.Obviously, I owe a lot of that to the power and handling of the R8, but it made me feel good! I have to say that I was most impressed with the cornering ability of the R8. I had no idea that it could corner like a track-spec Miata. My buddy was in front of me in his Porsche 911 and the R8 was taking the corners better than it! I wanted to post this and say I had the greatest experience at the track! I had the only R8 out there that day and I loved every second of it! For the next event, I will probably be changing my brake fluid and put on some different brake pads (a bit more sporty) just to help with my overall braking!
Hoping to get some pictures from my buddy soon!
Oh, and I drove my R8 from Tampa to Sebring and then back to Tampa without an issue! One satisfied owner right here.

Yes, but I had to get my point across somehow, lol. I was behind one for a bit and I was right on him, although I had to tap my brakes going into the turns and he didn't. Those things are pretty amazing though.
