Am I Crazy?

Was offered one of the last remaining slots for my dealer's allocation for 2007 car with delivery in September, but I turned it down to get a 2008 delivery.

Rationale based on:

1. Not loving the color selection being offered on the base cars. Not bad, but would rather wait for the Exclusive Package to be available, and then choose a color closer to what I desire.

2. Availability of LED headlights - sounds mega-cool

3. Ironing out of any initial bugs that may plague the car once deliveries start. I know Lambo made a number of unannounced and announced improvements to the Gallardo "real time" when it was first launched. I suspect the same with the R8.

Other than the heightened anticipation, and potentially a mild price increase, hopefully I am not at risk for anything else.

Hope this is a decision I do not regret.

Living in the NE US and getting a firsthand refresher of our lousy winter weather, I'm also inclined to reconsider delivery of a high performance sports in the beginning of winter, unless the US cars are NOT delayed and actually arrive in Sept.

I've heard it may take awhile for Fed acceptance. As far as being mega-cool, I have to see them in person first.

That's what the long lead time and early euro release should accomplish (sorry UK guys). I wouldn't expect any changes until the '09s and the V10, of course.
There is a temptation to think one could get an early allocation car, drive it for a year, and trade it for a V10 with no loss of value...
