Another new member of the pack

Hey guys,

I wasn’t quite sure of the official etiquette on the forum, so forgive me if I've missed a 'new owner' area - but wanted to say hello after recently buying a silver R8, and browsing the forum for the past few weeks.

I sold my 911 Turbo to buy the R8, and it's one of the best automotive decisions of my life - a little slower sure, but the 'spectacle' value is jammed up to 11

Car came with oxygen silver blades, which I've just had replaced at Audi for carbon ones - and has the utterly brilliant leather race seats out of the RS4.

Hopefully I'll be a useful member of the forum,

Love the seats mate. Glad you where willing to put style above power when you made the switch. The V8 maybe slow but its one hell of a car to drive!

The noise is epic, especially coming from a car like the 911T which is so quiet engine wise - however the tyre roar was unbelievable, and not something I miss in the R8, where I can chat to a passenger at speed on the motorway without raising my voice.

As for outright speed, I would think twice about dragging an RS3 off the lights, but then in a car like the R8, you don't need to - it's like the posturing needed for other sportscars just isnt needed in it.

very true - and the combination of pace, handling and noise on a decent twisty road is seriously addictive.

Have you driven it hard through the twisty bits yet? It's going to change your mind forever as to how a sportscar should feel. The poise, the speed, the absence of drama, and the sheer competence of this car in the corners is what truly sets it apart, much more so than any stoplight battle.
