Vmax 200 uk

There is a event held in UK called VMAX200 (http://www.vmax200.com/) whereby high performance cars get together a few times a year on Bruntingthorpe Runway (2miles) to see how fast we can take our cars, ie as close to 200mph as you can go.

Latest event took place this past weekend and i was the only R8 V10 but there were a couple of R8 V8 there.

I hope i did the R8 community proud, my top speed on speedo averaged 200-205mph over 25 runs with a confirmed 197mph on track spped trap.

So here are a few videos of me playing at VMAX...initial run off line is a taxiway (but still get up to 140mph) before going onto main 2mile runway then after that another 1mile of track with some great corners to race round before going back to start again.

1) This was me racing a R8 V8 vs my R8 V10....

2) The below is 13minutes and im in it on 11minutes if you jump to there. Im racing a Ferrari 430, easily beat him down the first straight and then you see me on main runway and he goes past me, a) because I accidently hit the rec limiter and it cut the revs causing car to slow (can hear it just on video) + b) I later learnt he had chipped it with extra 50hp - he was only guy to beat me all day

3) Below was when I tried launch control for first time, so it wheel span initially but then blasted past the yellow porsche

Was great fun and car was fantasctic all day and was great to test its full potential, next is Silverstone GP circuit on Oct 4th, cant wait

You need to even things up with the Ferrari and get your V10 chipped as well.

That first vid just shows the brute difference in power, making the V8 look like it's just sitting there.

I was referring more to the V8 vs V10 R8. I'd surely hope the 599 is that much more faster for that price packing a V12 under its bonnet!
