Lightbulb New member, soon to be owner...looking for some advice

I just ordered a V10 R8. I chose the Tuscan interior with enhanced leather, CF interior, headliner and CF side blade

I'm having a hard time picking the exterior color and wheels. I ordered it with lava grey and titanium wheels but still debating if I should change to daytona grey or black. I'd prefer to stick with grey.

I'd appreciate any suggestions if anyone has seen or has one of these combinations, or, best would be if anyone knows of anywhere I could actually see an R8 in the grey colors. I'm from NE Wisconsin and the only ones at the dealerships around here are black or red.

Last question, I like the titanium/grey wheels. They looked great on a black R8 with CF side blade that was at the dealership yesterday...just worried they would be too dark particularly with the daytona grey. Any thoughts on that one would also be helpful.

Thanks for any help that is offered ahead of time...I have about 45 days to finalize the color

    JJB

I have an R8 Spyder in Daytona grey with 5 spoke titanium wheels. Personally, think the combination looks great. Definitely not too dark. Other Spyder owners on this site have similar pairing. You can link to more pictures under "my garage" and see others' garages as well.

Its a tough decision. Grey or Gray. I'm sure you'll pick the right one for you. BTW, is Daytona available again? Last I heard it was not, due to the Japan tsunami.

As far as I know, daytona is available...it was one of my options for the 2012. Hoping it is as I am leaning in that direction

Daytona Gray is my personal favorite on the R8's.

Yes, definitely get the enhanced leather, but I am not a fan of the Tuscan interior. I would suggest black w/ titanium stitching.

Check all the Carbon Sigma options and get the Carbon Ceramics if you can swing the $10K and you're good.

For wheels. I like the titanium package wheels, but if you really want a great menacing R8, get the STaSIS 20" wheels in Anthracyte after your car arrives and sell your OEM wheels/tires.

I would re-think the titanium finish on the wheels. The paint on them is delicate, and hard to get restored when the inevitable scratches occur. They don't look that much nicer, and the polished aluminum y-spoke wheels are WAY easier to maintain (buffs right out...). I have both, prefer the polished, which are still much less shiny than chrome.

I had the Tuscan interior on my Ibis white V8, and everyone I came across loved it.
I think Daytona and Tuscan would be a great combination!

But they are nicer! And I agree with you on the delicate paint. For about $400 you can have them clear coated which helps prevent chips, and also makes them MUCH easier to clean.
