I predicted the Nissan to come in first but was quite surprised to see the R8 GT so close on the heels of the 458. Well done, Audi!

I'm impressed with the R8's performance in this basic 'test'. At the higher end speeds, both the 458 and the R8 might have hauled the GT-R back in over the next few hundred meters??

Agreed, as the trap speeds indicate the R8 and the 458 are both 4 mph faster and likely to pull the Godzilla car in very shortly. Gaining some 6 ft/sec it would not have taken too long.

Out-of-my-arse arithmetic gives me this equation:

r8 with dsg + xhorst + tune = hello 458

The gtr is quite an achievement really.

Also missing, CTS-V, Vantage V12, Lambo. And not sure why they didn't use M3 or ZR1 instead of M1 and Z06? Or why Lotus was invited to this party at all?

Agree..it would have been real nice to have a Lambo in there.

However...that new GT-R is just outstanding in its speed.

The outcome of the drag race is as expected. But the lap result around Laguna Seca is quite surprising.
