No i have not but by coincidence, I am racing around the new Silverstone full Grand Prix circuit next Tuesday October 4th which is an official Silverstone track day...looks like they only do a limited number on the full circuit...so that was one not to miss.
Now i have had the R8 V10 at 200mph (registered on speedo) down Bruntingthorpe runway as part of VMAX beginning of September, I cant wait to try it out on the Silverstone GP circuit!!!

I'm on the 10th Audi day, in the morning. National track only. I was going to try to make the 4th but work commits have halted that .
I'm in the 11th. I thought we had the GP track though...
No, just checked and it is the National Circuit
Ok I attended the Silverstone track day (yesterday Oct 4th) on the new Grand Prix circuit and was an amazing day. Ive been going to Silverstone over 20 years now and its always great to be at the home of motor racing and F1 but to drive the new full circuit was just great fun.
The new Wing pit complex is just exceptional and, as would expect, Silverstone was well run with pleasant staff.
Now to the R8 V10...well have to say ive heard everyone talking on here about its track performance but still was surprised how well it took to the track. Ive attended a few track days and do lots of kart racing but im still not as quick as the regular trackers. We also shared the day with various race teams testing...so i can only compare it to a Le Mans series with all types of cars on the track which kept you on your toes!
Clearly you also get a few idiots who ignore the track etiquette and i had caterhams and others darting down the inside into corners (a big no no) and playing silly buggers but i guess you will see this at most track days...i even rented one of the pit garages (just because i could!) and came back after a run and found someone parked in my pit garage who had seen me using it before and had my name outside on the garage....it just amazes me how people just think they go do what they wish...anyway he was told to get lost.
The R8 just performed brilliantly, it didn't complain at all...i probably did about 5 laps and then let it cool down for 30mins before going out again and the tyres (just the standard ones) handled very well especially when they heated up and picked up all the rubber...they just stuck to the track at Silverstone and i was going through corners at speeds i just didnt expect i could do. I also let my mate drive my car a few times also (i trust him as we race karts together) and was just as good being a passenger.
All in all, was a great day and love the car so much more now...so ive taken it up to 200mph (on speedo) at Bruntingthorpe and now have driven on one of the best tracks in the world (with all that history) - im very happy!
p.s. i did pay to have a video taken me driving round the track with speeds etc...all came out well just need to work out how to get on here.

Great write up. Good to hear you confirm that the R8 was an excellent track car. Thanks for sharing.
