These lawsuits flying back and forth seem to be the current "state of the art" in any high tech filed these days. Just look at computer chips, pad computers and smart phone technology as some examples. Usually these things tend to end in settlements and there is little to no effect on consumers.
Just my two cents FWIW . . .

Common suit/countersuit banter in patent infringement disputes. Generally the grant of an injunction in patent disputes is rare. There would have to be irreparable harm or damages to the patentee. The ban of an entire automobile based upon one or a few potentially infringing components thereon will not happen, especially when monetary damages are available and easily calculated.

What it's worth is a higher consumer price, to cover the parasitic legal system sucking blood from the productive sector. But of course the final replacement is always taken via an addl. cash transfusion from the end user.

But hey, if it's "class action," in 5 years you'll get a 15 page form that, IF you fill it out without any error or omission, MIGHT get you a $10 cash settlement 18 months down the road! (the lawyers having extracted their $1 mil.+ up front!)
