the ultimate R8 roadtrip IMHO!

Ok as I posted earlier since Audi couldn't/woulnt give me
European Delivery of my 5.2 R8 Spider they arranged for me to use
one of theirs in Europe for 15 days.They paid registration & insurance
and the car was delivered with a full tank of petrol.

Day 1. 11.5 hour direct flight from LA to Munich was greeted at baggage claim by pleasant German Girl who drove the wife and I to ingolstadt.
Audi bought our room and breakfast. We were picked up in A8 stretch.
Day2. Picked us up at 930 AM drove us to factory. Car was parked out front.
A 2011 R8 5.2 Spider Tiptronic.Car had Orang/Dark brown interior,orange stitching,ceramic brakes,some carbon fibre door inserts.Had abot 20k kilometers
on it.
Decided against standard factory tour. My R8 factory tour scheduled for next
day I passed on that also As I wanted to hit Frankfort auto show on day 2.
They bought us lunch and some wine give us the keys and off we went!
Frankfort auto show massive in size by American standards.
day 3&4 off to Amsterdam. The autobahn a disappointment with SO MANY 80 kilometer construction zone between Frankfort and the Netherlands.
Vehicle parking $70 per night.
day 5&6 drove to Brussells. Bustling city, Went to delerium cafe 2500
different beers to pick from!

First class by all accounts! You have to get a kick out of offering you wine and then handing over the keys to their car ... only in Europe :-)

day 7&8 stayed a gorgeous French Chateau in Mirambeau (near Bourdeau)
Lovely romantic place. went to Cognac and took Hennessy tour.Sam barrels
of Cognack dat as early as 1800!
day 9&10 stayed in AIX en provence... nice area.
day 11&12 drove to and stayed at Monte Carlo..exotic car capital of Europe!
Parked in front of Casino withFerraris,McClaren 722 spider etc.
believe it or not more tourist were taking pictures next to the R8!
Dozens of Ferraris, few Lambos.matte black Turbo Cayenne etc.
Mine was only R8 I saw in Europe until I returned to Munich were
I saw 1 4.2 coupe.

Next day drove through Swiss ALPS absolutely Breathtaking. Stayed in small
village called Churs.next day back to munich to catch last day of Octoberfest!
Quite an event!
not that it matters but fuel about 7.50/gal toll road fees about $200
All in all a trip to remember!
Audi told me only 2 people did Euro delivery of R8 this year. no more until
april 1st now. Can'timagine not doing after the great time we had!

day 5&6 paris. visted the Lourve dined at Maxims. saw couple 430 F cars 1 560 lambo spider.
dodged crazy French drivers!

No I'm in the diamond business and I buy them off the street.

Is that 20 thousand kilometers or did you mean to say 20 kilometers? I'm assuming you took Euro delivery on a new R8?
