Re: Getting one end of 2007

Hey guys, you are working yourselves into an early grave!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but sometimes you should keep things to yourself rather than leaving yourself up their to be shot down.

All the cars mentioned are great for various reason of performance, iconic style or practicality. The R8 is the new kid on the block, give it a chance as it has not had a chance to prove itself yet!

I for one, believe in the value of Audi's proven engineering record, not just the mechanics but also the styling. Even though I drive currently a 911 Turbo, which has been superb, the prospects of the R8 I find very exciting. It not all about outright performance, it has to be the total package that counts.

Next summer, I am sure we will see many owners with large smiles not just in R8's but in Porsche's and Lambo's. We need them all to make the driving world go round.

Re: Getting one end of 2007

A very commendable post in a thread that is on the verge of getting out of hand ...

If we all liked the same thing ... the world would be a very dull place ...

Some people will always like to go for something because it has more bhp ...
Some because of the low 0-60 time ...
Some because of the outrageous styling ...
Some because of the badge ...
Some because of the handling ...
Some because of the engine size ...
Some because of the chance to own something new ...
Some because of the exclusivity ...
Some because of the reliability ...
Some because of the status of the car ...
Some because of the fuel economy ...

The list of reasons would be huge ... if you really went into detail.

Titanz has his reasons for wanting a Lambo ... then not wanting one ... then wanting a 911 ... that's his choice ... I have my reasons for owning an RS4 ... the same as I have my own reasons for owning an NSX ... just like I have my reasons for wanting an R8 ... it really shouldn't matter what other people think.

Maybe Titanz just feels passionately about things ... maybe he's posted things that he thinks later might have been a bit over the top ... I know I have done in the past ... and will probably do so in future.

I don't think he's been that outrageous to warrant people calling for him to be kicked off the forum ... maybe some of his posts could be read with the resultant feeling that he is posting in that manner to provoke a reaction ... if that's the case ... like L3MAN said ... "you are working yourselves into an early grave".

Why rise to provocative posts so readily ... (says someone who has done so many times before) ... it inevitably gets your blood pressure up ... and leads to bad feelings between you and the person you're posting back at.

Although coming onto a forum aimed at a particular car ... and belittling it ... isn't the most sensible thing to do ... and it's not going to win you any popularity awards ... if you don't like it and think it's a poor mans Lambo ... and that you obviously aren't going to want one ... let alone buy one ... why bother continuing to post here ... you'll have much more time to then spend talking to people who like 911s ... or other things you like ... if you left us to our own little R8 wanting world.

Anyway ... thats just my humble opinion ... please don't shoot me down for having one.

    Gone but not forgotten ...
VW Golf V6 4motion (does just what it says on the tin)
Vauxhall Lotus Carlton (a beast of a motorway cruiser)
Honda NSX, manual JDM (a beauty to drive anywhere)
Audi RS4, B7 saloon (awesome on any road - or track)
