Fun at Summit Point with V8 R8!!

Went to Friday at the Track today at Summit Point in my dad's Audi R8. The morning session was on a soaking wet track (haven't uploaded that video yet), but this one I have for you guys was on a dry track later in the day. I setup a GoPro camera outside of the car on the top of the windshield, and had another camera inside taking video of the steering wheel and shifter. I managed to put them together into one video. Keep in mind that the GoPro is positioned in front of the passenger seat, not exactly in the center of the windshield.

Didn't watch the entire video but your line looks good... Typically run there with PCA in a 911 track car. Out curiosity, what was your speed at the end of the front straight?

Good work out there ... is your Dad as good behind the wheel (he certainly gets full marks for being generous with his car :-))

My speedo is the last thing I ever look at, especially when I'm going that fast. I'm guessing I was in the high 130s... maybe 140. Who knows.

My dad has done one Friday at the Track with the R8, but it's not really his cup of tea; he's more of the car show kinda guy. And yes, it was very nice of him to let me take his car out. It's nice that he trusts me so much.

Not to sound contradictory but I generally don't look at the speed either, but surly looking at the RPM's. Agreed, your father is very generous and I'm sure you've earned his trust. David

I just finished uploading 10 mins of my session on a rain-soaked track. Everything after that point is useless because the GoPro case started fogging up on me.
