    Well it's official. at least the date is

    Mark your calendars because in 2014, the new gen R8 will finally make its debut. There will still be a V10 and V8 variant offered. that's enough closure for me.

    But 2014 means sometime in 2013. It's not likely they'd change something next year and then again the year after.

    Eventhough we have had no change in a while and we all want it NOW, i think it will be later rather than sooner. Why would AUDI release the GT and then just change up the body with a facelift?

    Why would Audi do nothing for two-three years? The cars are already languishing at the dealers sitting unsold. All the German marques do three year refreshes, keep the public buying. Look at the new 911. Audi has to move.

    They are both linking back to the automobilwoche.de article, so let's not get too carried away with circular reinforcement or the idea that publishers take pains to ensure accuracy in things like this.

    Besides, the new "2014" platform doesn't preclude an interim facelift.
