R8s at 2011 Audifest Infineon (Sears Point)

I'll start this, others that attended (there were about 6 or r8talkers) can upload better pictures. Unfortunately, none of us had anything better than point and shoot.

It was a fabulous weekend with over 160 cars in attendance, one of the largest Audi Club North America event in the country. No injuries reported, though there were two significant "incidents" one involving a Panamera (probably totaled) and another a R8 (damaged but appeared repairable).

The R8s were strongly represented. We had 11 or 12 cars there though only 9 showed up for the group picture.








For those of you who are on the fence about joining the club, I strongly recommend signing up for such event. The Audi clubs members are a bunch of great folks, very passionate about their cars and helpful. They make novices welcome in a non competitive environment that will help you become a better, safer driver.

To chime in, I had a great time as well pushing the R8 on the track for the first time. Highly recommend for anyone on the fence. Below is a good group shot that I got from Joe (@ Audi Club). I have two other high res photos from him - if you want the full files, PM me.

This was a very fun weekend. We missed all the other Bay Area R8Talkers who were unable to attend or visit.

The club's chief instructor was very busy running the track event. Since my R8 is in the shop, during the group photo I stood by his R8. I guess that makes me a wannabe poser, doesn't it?

Great to meet all of the other R8 owners at this event. For those of you who are curious, my little excursion off the track will cost less than $4k to repair. Rear bumper, wheel well liner, front right radiator (apparently cracked when the front end bottomed), some underbody panels and refinishing of scratched wheels.

Fantastic new Terry. Hope to see you at a future event. I am also in need of some minor body shop work to fix paint chips mostly (not caused by track days).
