    Under door LED install

I have an older V8 so I used the Tunerdome bulbs and so far no codes thrown. I wasn't planning on posting this since I figured it was rather easy so I didn't take step by step pictures. But I took a couple pictures just in case anyone was going to do this.

Under the door you'll see the light housing is not held by any screws like the trunk/license plate led in the back. That's about the only tricky part of this install. The screws on the trunk led make install self explanatory but the lights under the doors take a little effort to pull out of the door.

You have to pull the light towards the front of the car while also pulling down on the housing. It's pretty snug btw. Then you remove the half circular plastic black cap that covers the bulb housing and unclip the wire harness from the bulb housing. Pull the bulb out and replace with the Tunerdome wedge led bulb and clip it back on. It's that easy.

I also included a pic of my trunk license plate led's installed with Tunerdome bulbs. No code here so far either. It was still daylight out so I didn't have the chance to take pictures of how bright the leds are at night. The license plate led lights seem to not be very bright though. Hardly can see the plate numbers (which is a good thing I suppose) but I thought it would be brighter like from the factory on some BMW's and Lexus. The under door led bulbs seem to glow much brighter than the license plate bulbs for some reason.

Here are some pics along the way.

I'm not sure I know what you mean by code? It's a simple bulb replacement and no code needed. Unless you are asking for the part number?

In the US you can buy from Tunerdome but for newer model R8's (2010+ I think it will throw a error code on your cars computer). In the UK you can goto www.ultraleds.co.uk to order the bulbs. I would just email them and ask for which bulb you need as I don't have the part numbers handy. Hope this helps.

For the doors you need the wedge bulbs that look like this:

Or I would just email them and tell them what you need. David Delaney david@tunerdomes.com was very helpful and will know which bulb you need.

Do you also have replaced the bulb in the trunk? Until now I couldn't find a working LED

No I have not tried to do this but some others have tried the bulbs on the trunk and it was not successful. I hardly use or open the trunk anyhow so I'm not worried about it. Let us know if you find a solution though.

    Re: Under door LED install

You could just fit the LED light units.
You need minor adaptor that takes 30secs to make but they are real easy to do.

So, while on the subject of LED lights...

I've got a new Spyder that has the Autopack and all the puddle lights and door ends are LEDs.
The Footwell lights in my car are in situ, but when i removed one of them to check why they weren't working they are not wired up. Anyone know how/where to wire these upto? I can see the coding in the system to enable them (and ive previously done it on a TTS before) but i was just hoping someone had attempted this before and would save me the trouble of having to learn it again.
