I know there's at least 3 of us now just from recent posts asking the same question. Where are you located? I'm back and forth between dtla and oc. Wickedr8 is based in oc and looking to get a group together as well. Haven't been to cars n coffee in a while but I would imagine there to be some R8 regulars there? Where are you located?

There is an active Southern California chapter of the Audi Club. We do a few tours and scenic drives during the year, plus a few track days. Please join us at one of our events: www.sccaudi.com

The Golden Gate chapter has an even fuller calendar. Some of their events are definitely worth the trip north. www.audiclubgoldengate.org

The Audi Club's "annual" Malibu Canyons group drive garnered five R8s three years ago, but the last two years this event has been rained out. This is a great opportunity to get R8s together, let's hope we can do so again next year.

Harrison and I made a few attempts a couple of years ago to do an R8-only GTG, but "SoCal" is so spread out, from San Diego to Santa Barbara, that it is hard to find a meeting place which works for everyone.

Events with a theme or something interesting to see or do usually have the best draw. For example, this February we were able to put together a R8Talk tour of GMG motorsports, followed by lunch at Dukes. It was last minute so not the biggest turnout possible, but Merrill, Harrison, MNGolfer, and I attended.

All it really takes is someone with the time and inclination to be the organizer.

I would love to meet up with at least 5 other R8s for a short drive and maybe take some pictures too.....nothing cooler to see a R8 on the road then 5 R8s in a row on the freeway, haha. Let me know who's definitely interested. One of our first meets, we can all meet up at Cars & Coffee since that's always a great way to start a Saturday with other exotics. Then go for a short drive? Who's in?

COOL....everytime I go, I really can't believe how many people go to cars n coffee. the turnout of exotics is always amazing. here was this weekend's pics from sat......check it out. Lots of Ferraris.

Cars and Coffee was great this weekend. Lots of good things to look at. I believe I was the only R8 out there. An OC group would be fun. There's the Laguna Hills mall gathering of Socal Euro's this Thursday evening. Maybe we could gather there to gauge interest.
