Which colour to choose??

Hi Guys,

Im new to this forum and have been researching my car before I ordered it. i have placed a tentative order and have gone for the r8 v10 convertible r-tronic. I am undecided about the colour to be honest. The order is down for the suzuka grey with a red roof. Just wondering if u guys can think of any other colour which would look good on the r8 v10. I want a colour which would look nice done up maybe with black wheels or the like.

Any help or feedback would be appreciated.

To me, the red top gives the car more elegance than sportiness, especially when paired with the more muted colours like grey. Black wheels, however, are meant to reflect aggressiveness, so maybe the end result might be a bit incongruous.

If enough people respond, every color will be recommended.

It comes down to personal choice. Right, that's not very helpful, is it. So my opinion is that sports cars should stick to basic colors, which would be red, white, black or silver. If you must do something like blue or green, make sure it has some history associated with the car (e.g. British Racing Green on a suitable car). To me, unusual color mixtures such as Suzuka grey (too close to white) or Jet blue (too close to silver) are riskier choices that you may tire of over time.

As for the top, red is intriguing and would probably look great with white, for example, but as with interiors, I'd suggest sticking with basic black. Less interesting at first blush, but safe.

Suzuka gray is a nice color only if you have it done with matte finish. the standard finish make the car looks less intimidating than it should be

I saw a fantastic Spyder in the Neckarsulm museum in Velvet purple with red roof and red leather, i had already opted for the Sepang blue with blue and white leather but having seen the one in Germany i would have preferred that combo.

If you've had your eye on suzuka gray for a while, I would stay with that choice. I thought I wanted a black R8 for the longest time. Then I went to the dealer to see black in PERSON. There just happened to be a suzuka grey one on the showroom floor during my visit. I came home with seven pictures on my camera that day. 2 photos of the black one and 5 of the suzuka grey one. Some colors just work on certain cars and suzuka grey looks awesome on the R8. You should also know that I'm a guy who doesn't ordinarily like light colored cars. I deleted most of the pictures from that days visit but I kept 3. Guess which three?
