i've only had the car for about a month and it is by far the worst navigation i have ever used in my life. i was wondering if there is any other navigation upgrade.

Unfortunately it does suck. Try searching the forum for other threads as I recall this has been already been discussed at least a couple times. Good luck!

Yes there is an upgrade. I use a Tomtom when I really need a Navi. The Audi system is pretty bad.

would be great if it was possible to pipe the tomtom video out of the iphone / ipad into the video inputs on the audi nav......

I read the other forum posts, doesn't seem to be much after market stuff avail for the radio other than retrofitting the reversing cam if it didn't come with it.

After coming from the Porsche and Alpine (upgraded head in my Vanquish), I'm very happy with the Audi Navi. Mind you, the Porsche system is, without any doubt, the worst I've ever had the misfortune to try and use.

I wish Audio had put the same system they put in the A8 into the R8.

My 2009 R8 navigation is no where near as good as my 2010 S4's, which pales in comparison with the new system with Google Maps in the A6/A7/A8.

And there is one shared amusement -- I live in the Cincnnati area. North of us is Dayton, Ohio. Driving north on I-75, both R8 and S4 advise me to drive to "Daytona Beach" rather than "Dayton." Always a chuckle.

Is the GPS updated at all on the 2012 MY? I assumed it would be the same as my 2011 S4 but maybe I assumed wrong. If not, is an electronics upgrade expected for 2013 MY?

I'm really torn between an R-tronic now or perhaps waiting for the summer for a possible tranny/engine/electronics change.

Jenny's retarded. Plain and simple. (I call my nav Jenny, by the way). She's always taking me in funky round about ways and often misses the shortest (physically and time wise) route. Don't use her in downtown Boston - she's clueless!!!

Tom Tom, on the other hand, smokes Jenny when it comes to function.
