Bad.
Too many, not enough demand, new model coming out soon.
2011 911 Turbo S
2011 Cayenne Turbo
2012 991 911S
2011 Audi A8
Scary bad in 3 years..
IMO..expect 40% plus with 2 new models being released within the 3 years...particularly if its R-tronic

40% depreciation would be normal. Why not a nearly new car which has already had a little depreciation or wait a year, it will be a much softer landing. R8s purchased new 3 years ago have suffered that kind of depreciattion, there is no way round it. What is your alternative choice?
OK, maybe I'm clueless but I haven't seen anywhere near 40% depreciation on my V8 coupe I bought new 2 yrs ago -- maybe 20% from the online used car prices I'm seeing for low mileage cars.
I got about 15% off MSRP when I bought it.
I also seem to recall in other threads a general opinion that they were holding their value . . . hmmm.

I am talking about the depreciation being the difference between purchase and trade-in price rather than the price the dealer retails it for. In the UK 3 year old R8s purchased for around 85-90k are going for retail around 60k so taking into account dealer margin this equates to around 40%.
Doesn't matter what the depreciation is. You won't want to sell it.

I like to a couple things
1 the car is a great car I really like it
2. I have a dealer would sell me a 2011 brand new car for 22k off the 175 k msrp
Now let us all remember here that this car like all other high priced auto s take a big hit on there original prices that they were bought for and for me this kind of bothersome that cars that are not
Made in in high production numbers to decrease so much in value.
So I have done research on the wholesale side since I have friends in the car business and have access to reports and so forth ...on the r8 spider v10 are going for in the auction houses
For clean under 1000 to 2000 miles for average of 149k today
But yesterday called a couple dealers who both had used cars with 1200 average miles
And one guy would. Sell to me for 146 k and the other for 149
So the conclusion. These guys traded these car for atleast 5k less then what they are selling
So in all reality if u to trade this version of the r8 dont expect more then 140 k thats least 35k hit
On a great looking car and under 1000 cars were produced for 2011
So this is what I'm trying to say this is bull$hit for cars like these to depriciate so bad
That's why I feel the way I do and tired of losing ...sorry for making you guys reading so much..LOL
