R8 GT availability?

So, I've been getting more and more interested in the GT of late. I am in the preliminary stages of contacting dealers. Question I have is, so far what's available? I was told from a dealer that sold their only allocation that dealers with a GT allocation cannot sell to someone outside of their territory. How much of this is true? And what is out there in terms of availability? TIA

There's a Matte Suzuka gray on EBay now. There's actually quite a few available elsewhere. They will be more than happy to sell to anyone.

As far as selling to retail customers, I have not heard of any restrictions.

As I hear it, a dealer can always sell/trade a car to another dealer. The problem is they won't get credit with the manufacturer for the retail sale. In the case of the GT, where a dealer may only get a single allocation, this is a big problem for them as it can affect their future allocations from Audi. So there is a huge disincentive for them to dealer trade a GT.

That makes a whole lot of sense. I'm going to do a bit more research and see where this takes me. I'd like to option this out to my liking, but with the limited availability, this may not be available. If anyone knows of any unspoken for allocation (not yet built to dealer spec), please pm me.

Thanks. Looking for glossy paint, likely black. Not a fan of the matte option. From my understanding, white is not a standard option for the GT. Is this true?

I have Suzuka Gray (metallic white/gray) in a gloss finish. I didn't want to deal with maintaining a Matte paint on a car that will see occasional track use. At this point, you will not be able to spec a GT. I agree with the above comments regarding dealer trades. Your best bet is to purchase directly. Good luck!

BTW- I just tracked the GT here in the Northeast after 400 break-in miles. It's a noticeable improvement over the V10 for this purpose.
