    US V10 Coupe Pricing help!

Hi guys, I am looking for a little help with pricing on a V10 Coupe. I see many discussions but I know times and economic climates change.

    I have 2 offers.

The first is from my local dealer here in Germany for 110,000€ out the door for a white 2012 or 2013 with white paint, carbon side blades and polished 2 arm 5 spokes. My wife is American employed by US here so I can take advantage of her tax free status and remove the 19% VAT as well as take the 15% discount I am being offered on the car itself. Final offer is 110,000€ while Sticker is 153,000€.

At the same time because my wife's american tax advantage and her employment with the US here I can buy a US spec car and have an offer for the same car. 2012 or 2013 White, carbon blades, polished 5 spokes, no US tax, no German tax and no Gas guzzler fee. They are offering me invoice pricing of $142,400 out the door while sticker is $153,050.

So with my current exchange rate I do slightly better on the German spec model and have the ability to sale the car easier in a few years here at home being its a local spec car. But my ultimate question is if the $142,400 invoice offer from the US spec firm is reasonable. Are you guys negotiating cheaper than invoice there in the US? Because I can also buy US car from the US and ship it here again tax free if there are better deals that make it worth the effort.

Thank you in advance and I hope it all makes sense!

I am simply asking what people are getting for pricing on these cars in the US. I have paperwork stating that if I put a deposit down they will hold the 2012 pricing for me on the 2013 model. Pretty simple

No, I don't think anyone is getting the car for cheaper than invoice. That's absurd unless you have crazy connections.

Okay that is good to know thank you Visionboy. That make me feel very good about the fact that I spoke with the US dealer today and they will offer me $5000 under invoice which brings the car to $137400 out the door in US specs. To do this they want me to order by January so it would be a 2012 model.

Re: US V10 Coupe Pricing help!

I am sorry, the dealer is here in Germany and they only sell to US spec to Americans that are military or civilians DoD or with NATO stationed here. They sell mainly A4s, A5s, Q5s and such. Since my wife is American working for DoD I can buy through her program.

They don't have any R8 in stock but the order time is 4 months and they have verified that they can get the allocation. There is not a market at all for the R8 in the community that they sell to and this will be the first. This I am assuming is the only reason that they will go under invoice. I am sure they will also enjoy having the R8 there in the showroom for the couple weeks it sits there waiting to get tax free status.

Even with the deal I am not sure if its worth going with the US spec over the German spec though. It will be a lot easier to sell the German spec car in a few years for me.

I appreciate the input so far. I now know that they are offering a good deal so I am happy about that. I have no real way to compare pricing in the US market aside from what you guys tell me so thank you!
