OEM Recaro European sport seats in the US

Anyone know if the European Recaro OEM sport seats can be installed in the US with the airbag still intact. I am 6'3" and not happy with the r8 seats.

My understanding is that the ROW OEM Recaro sport seat does not have side airbags, hence that is why it is not available in the US where side airbags are a requirement.

The Porsche GT2 OE seat (also made by Recaro) does include side airbags. It should be possible to retrofit them to an R8. I don't recall any threads on R8Talk describing such a retrofit however.

The sport seats have no side airbags. They also have no passenger's occupancy detection system so that must be retrofitted with immobilizers for the side airbags to avoid error codes and the warning lamp. If you need assistance with this retrofit or the seats themselves do let me know.
