2012 Carbon Trim = Rahtard

When I went into the shop today to take pics of all my aftermarket parts in storage, the sales rep showed me what he had in inventory just to see if I'd reconsider getting back into another R8. I saw one of the most rahtarded things on the new 2012s and that is...

how they had the top half of the driver-side arch piece (the one that runs from door over the speedo and connects to the left side of the center console) in matte finish and the other half in glossy, just for the sake of "reducing glare".

Weird, mine didn't have it...it was glossy all the way around.

mine didn't have it either, but i saw lot's of them in matte on the top end...so who knows, maybe the white R8's didn't get the matte...lol

Mine is white. Also has half glossy, half matte.

Mine is half matte also on 2010 - always thought it was weird and assumed it was for glare

My UK spec Phantom black is half glossy half matt, and yes, I understand that it stops it reflecting in the windscreen. From the driving position you just don't notice it. I'd rather see the road.

Can this item be retro-fitted to a car that didn't have it from new?

This seems to a very rare option for UK cars and was in the end something I had to make a compromise on when buying used.

If so what do I need to order and any idea of the likely cost?
