Thanks for posting..
In my opinion all R8's are special and have that little bit of Moyo..whether they are V8,V10's,Coupes or Spyders
However I think the review has some basis in that..we as yet do not have a fire-breathing hardcore R8 out of the factory as yet.
You would never call any R8 slow, including the V8..but the R8 will probably always retain that built in refinement as they don't want to engross into Lambo territory.
Good Point, Gazza1. Nik and I drove the 750 HP VF Engineering LP560-4 back-to-back with my ZR1 vette. The AWD (quattro) makes the power delivery seem underwhelming. It's fast, but a No muss, No fuss, oh s__t! Go directly to jail kind of fast! The point being that the R8/LP platform handles power so well that no reviewer is going to mistake it for a vette / viper / amg. If they expect a really fast car to also be difficult to handle, then the R8 will consistently underwhelm!

I have quattro. Eat my dust.
2012 R8 GT | 2010 ZR1 | 2009 R8 STāSIS S/C | 2008 TT | 2004 S4 Avant | 2002 Z3 M Coupe
what color is that r8 ???
I dont think they are getting at that, the way i read the review is the GT just doesn't offer much "extra" over the base cars to warrant the 50k additional cost.
