I purchased the 2012 TT-RS in September but never really intended on keeping it longer than a year. Some things have changed financially and I've been thinking about moving into one of either a Ferrari California, a Lambo Gallardo or an R8. I went down to the Audi dealership over the weekend to test drive the R8 v10 Spyder and next door to test out the Lambo LP550 2. I love the Gallardo, love the power but prefer the styling of the R8. While the Gallardo is faster I love the sophistication and comfort of the R8.
I'm leaning towards the Ferrari California, primarily because it is more of a grand tourer and I love the idea of the hard top. The audi dealership had a black on black v10 r8 spyder that I test drove and while on the test drive the sales rep told me they would love to have me trade in my TT-RS and give me this r8. He said I could get nearly what I paid for my TT-RS (which is no surprise given its exclusiveness and demand) and that I could get the spyder for as much as $15k to $20k off MSRP.
So, i've been thinking about trading in, putting a little down if I needed to and moving into the R8 until the 2014 comes out or until the 2013 is out (if I like it) and the Ferrari California 2013 face-lift comes out.
I love the TT-RS. It's unbelievably fast and i've had it on the track....it's a freckin monster. Trading it in for the R8 would obviously be a step up and I would love to have a convertible for the summer.
Question is, is there a substantial reason to wait a bit or take advantage of the great deal on the R8?

Either way, you can't go wrong, they are all nice vehicles.
I don't know if the California is the same I've only ever sat in one but its something I would try before you buy
