As some may or may not know, I recently sold my beloved V10 R8. It is now in the hands of another current member here that is definitely satisfied with his purchase. I have owned both the V8 & V10 versions, and can honestly say it is the best all around supercar I have ever owned. Hell, they are actually the first Supercars I've ever owned!
Having owned the V8 for less than a year, and the V10 for barely 6 months, I can only hope I don't regret to leave R8 ownership. One of the things I will miss most is the superb treatment I received every time going to my local Audi dealership. Schaumburg Audi has gone above and beyond in every way possible to treat me like someone of extreme importance. While the truth is, I'm just an average guy that works long and hard hours of a 9-5 just to enjoy my number one passion of super/exotic/sports cars.
As winter set in, and the R8 put into hibernation, I just got bored and starting looking to get into something new, or different if you will. So I sold the car, (rather quickly to my surprise) and made a new purchase on January 11th of just this month. I never saw myself standing in "such and such" a dealership contemplating the purchase on this brand of a brand new car, but I did. I booked a flight (last minute) on a Tuesday night, and flew out of town the next morning to make my decision of two cars they had I was interested in. Once my decision was made, it was the most surreal moment of my life.Actually got a bit choked up while I was there..
In parting, albeit not from this forum, I just wanted to express how this has become the forum I respect the most. Having a forum as this, dedicated to one particular car, makes it a very special place to share ONE COMMON interest. Even though my R8 is gone, I'm not going anywhere!
