Audi offers private drive events where they invite potential R8 buyers to test drive for a few hours
at a designated location. According to youtube videos, and a few posted recently on the 'Photos'
subforum of R8talk.com two tractor trailers full of R8 are unloaded and Audi representatives conduct
about a half day event.

I have contacted AudiUSA in the Detroit area and have been told that there are only two drive events
scheduled for 2012, one in AZ and one in Napa CA. The AZ one has pasted, and the CA one is next
week if I recall correctly.

Audi, are you monitoring this website? I am a future R8 buyer and would really like to drive one and
better yet look over a hand full at once (like at your drive events) so I can determine what options
I really want.

Willing and ready to hop on a plane and head to sunnier weather than I am experienceing now to
experience an R8 and make my final decisions.

thats weird because I just attended one earlier this month in San Diego. So does that make that THREE events in 2012? I've also heard from them that they do these events multiple times during the year in different cities.

I attended a San Diego Event too. They had a two day (Jan 7 & 8) event here in San Diego. I received an invite in the mail and called right away. Most of the times were already full. I had a choice of the 1st time on either day or the last time on the second day. I took the last time and had a blast. It was a fairly short drive, but you got to have some fun. I was assigned a white convertible V10 with an r-tronic.

I just attended one of these this past weekend, Jan. 21, 2012, in Napa, CA. It was great fun, and the hotel/food were outstanding.

What made this event unique was that it's the only one in the country where you get to drive on the track at Infinion (old Sears Point raceway). Total driving time was 3 hours, including about 1 hour on the track, where we got to do/drive 2 laps each. At the end, we even got to do a "hot lap", riding as passengers, with one of the instructors trying to scare the **it out of you! Yes, they almost did...after all, I did attend an Audi Experience event on that same track.
