Hi everyone

I just moved to norcal and I just bought an Audi r8 4.2. Only had it for 24hrs and I love it already.

It was between this and a Nissan gtr. I'm glad I made this choice.

Just wanted to say hello and I'm wondering if there are any member get togethers in the NorCal area

I came very close to buying a GTR (even though the R8 was on my shortlist but initially I found it hard to get a test-drive in one) and now have a R8, and like you I'm sure I've made the right choice. It has more of a sports car feel and is great fun to be in and drive.

Regarding NorCal GTGs, you might check out the Audi Club events: www.audiclubgoldengate.org
Also some members gathered at a local tuner last year, however he has sold his car so that may not continue.
Anyway, lots of friendly members on here, I'm sure if you arranged something you could drum up some interest!

Its a white 2010 with black interior. white sideblade too. Its full option without the carbon accessories.

I was looking into new ones but this one only had 2,000 mi and also I would have to wait for a new white one at any dealership nearby.

I love the car. no complaints so far.

Congrats! There is a gathering of auto enthusiasts every Saturday morning in one of the outside parking lots of the Santana Row Shopping Center. About 5-8 R8 owners met there about 9 months ago or so, but we haven't met up again in a while. Perhaps it's time again soon!

Gsus, welcome to the hood! (or bonnet for our UK residing brethren).

There are a few of us in the SF Bay Area lurking on the board and we get together every so often. Radius8, TheSubtleCount and I got together last month (or was it December - **** those lost brain cells!). You should post if you want to go on a drive - we can usually drum up a few.

Beyond that, the track-day crowd is picking up. Radius8 is a fan and I've been sucked in as well. So far I'm signed up for HOD's two Laguna Seca days (Feb and April) and ACNA So Cal's day at Spring Mountain (also in April). Then there's AudiTron in May. AudiFest in October. Plenty of opportunities if you're interested.

Thanks for the welcome. I just moved to the area so im pretty much up for meeting new people, r8 owners or not .
