New R8 owner and new to this forum

Having driven Porsches for nearly 40 years, and ready to purchase the new 991, I took the opportunity to test drive a sepang blue R8V10 6 speed spyder.

Goodbye Porsche, hello R8. Simply put, I fell in love and bought the car on-the-spot. The Audi offers all of the handling, braking, steering and acceleration that I loved in my Porsches, but adds an additional layer of what I describe to myself as "emotion". Maybe its the sexy body and awesome mechanical sounds; maybe its the scarcity of the car, but in any case, it's a very different driving experience. I had some concerns that in this "day of Occupy Wallstreet" that appearing to be one of the 1%'ers might make the 99%'ers angry (and malicious) but so far, I've only gotten positive feedback.

As you other owners know, it's one of the cars that makes even the most mundane errands a special occasion. Look forward to communicating with my fellow R8 owners.

Welcome aboard. I came from a V8 vantage so i share the same sentiment as you. The R8 makes you feel special.
