Why Carbon Sigma Engine Bay Is A Good Idea

Judging from this example the engine bay could be a nightmare to keep clean.

Wipe clean surface such as Carbon Sigma will definately be better than the texture natural plastic liner.

    Judge for yourselves........

you are absolutely rite... If i am not mistaken, Paul has already gotten on this point some months ago, and now, that we see the actual mess in this picture, i think we all must strongly agree...

allthough, i am wondering how this has gotten so dirty everywhere.. was it raining inside?
no probably, you shouldnt open the cover when it was wet.. then you should be safe from most of this mess...

Use this link to the Fortitude site - "Track day picture + sand storm"

Whilst we do not get sand storms, our dry summers and then wet winters will make a nice ****tail of grime to stick to our shiny new engine bays !!!

I think that a small compressor will be needed to blow away and residual grime after a light weekly clean.

Track day in the desert with a sand storm thrown in !!!!!!!!!!

extreme yes, but the general British weather is not great for keeping your pride and joy clean.

The CF liners will be MUCH more labor intensive to keep clean since you will not like the appearance of your $6k liners after they've been scratched up!

The picture looks to me like the car was washed with very hard water and the engine compartment was not "detailed" afterward - surprised so much water can get past the hatch, perhaps there no seal so heat can escape?

when driving the R8 on nurburg, i checked exactly these seals, and you could really look into engine room while bonnet was closed...
BUT still i think the dirt in this picture comes from, someone opening the bonnet while wet, so water did flow into engin compartement...
